Segun Adewale Press Release On Lagos West Senatorial Elections

This is to appreciate my beloved family, friends and teaming supporters for working day and night in the last few months towards actualizing our dream of prosperity for all. Let us keep hope alive as the Lord that started a good thing in us will bring it to fruition.

To make you more comfortable and relaxed, we have already won with landslide in 8 LGA’s area out of 10 LGA’s based on the calculation of our LGA returning officers due to your votes and persistence with the results from 2 LGA’s to be concluded.

Having won 8 Local Government Area with landslide margin and returning Six House of Representatives Members which is the first in so many years, we were denied our mandate by INEC in collaboration with APC with inflated figures from Mushin LGA, Ifako Ijaiye LGA, Ikeja LGA and Agege LGA. This was done with APC adding fake results to reduce our winning margin in 7 LGA’s and winning with high margin in 3 LGA’s.

It is on record that I said on AIT on Monday morning, 30th March 2015 that even if I was declared the winner, I would still have called for a rerun because of glaring irregularities.

At this moment, I want to thank members of my campaign team, most importantly all my supporters for their support and coming out en-masse to vote me during the March 28th and 29th Senatorial election. You are all wonderful because you took out your time to come out, get accredited and cast your votes.

I also want to congratulate the Six (6) House of Representatives candidates (NOW 5) who won on the platform of the PDP. This is the first time ever in the history of Lagos.

Even though you are very discouraged as my APC opponent was declared winner of the election, let’s not lose hope or act vulgar as we know the figures published by INEC at the LGA collation level were doctored compared to those recorded at the Ward level.

That my APC opponent was announced doesn’t mean he has won as we would fight to reclaim our mandate according to the dictates of the Nigerian electoral laws.

We were aware of massive rigging (with location, date and time) by the APC agent’s right from Friday, the 27th of March to Sunday 29th March 2015. Just to give you some locations
a. Summit Hotel Alimosho Akowonjo Road
b. Inside Ajeromi Ifelodun Council Baale Street
c. At Ayobo Ipaja LCDA, INEC with APC using OPMESA
d. Bishop Agege School, Mushin
e. And many more ….

We are also aware INEC delayed announcing the results of the remaining 2 LGA’s to allow the APC inflate their result like,
a. Ifako-Ijaiye – Ward ***
b. Alimosho – Ward ***
c. Ajeromi – Ifelodun – Ward ***
d. Ojo LGA – Unit ***
e. Ward D Ijaniki.
f. And over 97 more occurrences.

My campaign offices also have it on good authority that voting didn’t occur in many wards in Ifako-Jaiye and Badagry but we were surprised to see figures from those places.

Our party agents were also locked out from the collating centre in Ifako-Jaiye and Alimosho.

Below is the final result presented by INEC as final result of Lagos West Senatorial Election:

S/N LOCAL GOVERNMENT
PDP (INEC Figures) APC (INEC Figures)
1. OJO 37,986  26,750
2. AMOWO-ODOFIN 38,429  25,535
3. AJEROMI-IFELODUN 47,137  33,201
4. BADAGRY 24,527  24,208
5. OSHODI 52,185  43,461
6. MUSHIN 36,149  61,874
7. AGEGE 25,858  47,617
8. ALIMOSHO 62,024  82,518

In concluding, I will like to plead with you, my supporters, voters and loved ones to please stay calm and hopeful as we shall take back our stolen mandate by INEC.

Let us continue to be our brother’s keeper.
God bless you.
