President Buhari this morning appointed Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu as Special Adviser and Senior Special Assistant respectively on Media & Publicity and as Spokesmen.
Remember the hullabaloo that greeted GEJ’s appointment of Rueben Abati and Doyin Okupe and how the ‘Change Agents’ called it a waste of government resources? Please how is this appointment of Adesina and Garba different from the appointments of Abati and Doyin Okupe?
Like my friend Hope Edebor wrote, the first appointments by President Buhari has an uncanny resemblance with the satire under President Shagari: Minister for Rice Importation and Minister because of Rice Importation.
Government waste aside, for ease of governance communication which is extremely important in government circle, the idea of two spokespersons is not healthy for Mr. President.
Two people serving identical post, Special Adviser, Media and Senior Special Assistant, Media… is this how to reduce the cost of governance promised by Buhari?
So where is the CHANGE??
