Jimi Agbaje: The servant leader to Rebuild and Unite Now

In the words of an ancient Chinese philosopher and writer, Lao Tzu, “A leader is best when people barely know he exists, not so good when people obey and acclaim him, worse when they despise him. But of a good leader who talks little when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: We did it ourselves”.

Jimi Agbaje for PDP Chairman

This popular quotes can aptly describe the quintessential quality of a man who has seen it all in the private sector and ready to serve the people using the Peoples Democratic Party as a reform tool to change the change of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

For me, the litmus test of the extent we intend to go in our  avouched resolve to change this “nightmarish” change the APC unleashed on innocent Nigerians come 2019 largely depend on  the choice we are going to  make in the forthcoming National Convention.

It is instructive to remind our party leaders that these are not the times for primordial ethnic partisanship. We must deliberately expand our frontiers and strive to win each other’s confidence if we must consolidate as a party to foster a more united and prosperous Nigeria.

In doing this, we must therefore be conscious of the choices we make and the processes we adopt to drive this choices.

Who becomes the next PDP National Chairman in the forthcoming convention is as important as winning the 2019 election itself. In doing this, we must be careful to choose a candidate who has no can of worms, who can command goodwill across boards, an intellectual bastion, fearless truth seeking and most importantly a person who is not a Boss of his own, but a servant leader who is ready to Rebuild and Unite Now.

Jimi Agbaje is one choice we must not REGRET not making.
